Automotive Technology

The  Warren County ATC offers course that are the foundation for various fields of Automotive Maintenance. This is a program that prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to repair, service and maintain all types of automobiles. Students will have the opportunity to obtain several areas of ASE Certification upon course completion.

Students enrolled in the Automotive Technology pathway are members of SkillsUSA. This organization is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce.

 

Courses - Students earn one credit per course and each course is nine weeks.

Automotive Maintenance and Repair Set A, B, C and D
These courses introduce the student to the principles, theories and concepts of Automotive Technology and include instruction in the maintenance and light repair of engines, brake systems, electrical/electronic systems, suspension and steering systems, automatic and manual transmission/transaxles and engine performance systems. In all areas, appropriate theory, safety and support instruction will be taught and required for performing each task; this includes the proper care and cleaning of customer's vehicles. The instruction will also include identification and use of appropriate tools and test/measurement equipment required to accomplish certain tasks.
